Located in a sleepy coastal town half way between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, this project was conceived as an escape from the hectic life of one of South America's largest cities.

Nestled among the mountainous, tropical terrain of the Brazilian coastal rainforest, Casa Pedra Verde frames the magnificent views of the surrounding landscape in a textural representation of the venerable Brazilian modernist style. Eschewing the sinous forms of Niemeyer's Brazil, the house takes advantage of the small site by opening up entirely to ocean breezes and sounds of waves crashing on the nearby shore.
